LANSING, MI (WKZO) -- One of Governor Snyder’s priorities for the Lame Duck session appears to be dead in the water. GOP members of The House Policy Committee have rejected the creation of a state run health-care exchange, to comply with the requirements of Obamacare.
The Governor and GOP leaders had hoped they could retain some control over the exchange by setting up their own.
The Failure of the House to act means the Federal Government can now impose a Healthcare Exchange on the State, when the deadline passes next month.
It’s been passed by Congress, approved by the President who was reelected by voters and upheld by the Supreme Court, but opponents to the Affordable Healthcare Act put pressure on Republican committee members to oppose it. The State Senate had also approved setting one up.
