Michigan State’s Big Ten opening loss by a point to Ohio State on Saturday dropped the Spartans from the top-25 rankings. 5-and-0 Ohio State is 12th in the weekly Associated Press poll with the Buckeyes the only ranked Big Ten team. Alabama is the undisputed choice as the top team in the nation, while Oregon is number two. Michigan State, now 3-and-2, will try to rebound this week when it plays at Indiana. Meanwhile, Michigan, which was idle this past weekend, opens its Big Ten schedule Saturday at Purdue.
