While the Red Wings remain locked out, Detroit's AHL affiliate, the Grand Rapids Griffins have opened training camp.  Defenseman Brendan Smith and forward Gustav Nyquist, who are expected to play with Detroit, will be working out with Grand Rapids. The Griffin’s camp runs through the week and ends with two exhibition games against the Lake Erie Monsters on Saturday in Toledo and on Sunday at Yost Ice Arena in Ann Arbor.
