COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) - Coldwater City Police say they had contact with the two suspects arrested this week for the Dutch Uncle Donut shop robbery the night before the September 24th crime and that helped them eventually track down the alleged thieves who remain behind bars. The $200 taken in the heist wasn’t recovered. There were no injuries reported. Taken into custody Monday were 19-year old Ricky Richardson of Tekonsha and 24-year old Michael Ball of Quincy. Richardson has a 100-thousand dollar bond because of pending burglary charges in other jurisdictions. Ball’s bond was set at ten thousand dollars. Authorities say on Sunday evening, the 23rd, Ball had been pulled over for a traffic violation while Richardson fled on foot when approached by officers who wanted to talk with him. The larceny occurred shortly after 6 a.m. the next morning. Richardson and Ball are due back in Branch County District Court for a preliminary exam on October 16th.
