BUTLER TOWNSHIP, BRANCH COUNTY (WTVB) - Branch County authorities say one minute a Butler Township woman is shooting a gun for the fun of it and the next moment, pointing the weapon at a man, allegedly making threats because of girl-guy relationship problems. Deputies say 27-year old Destiny Purcell and a male friend were out shooting cans at Purcell’s property on Craft Road Monday afternoon. That’s when they report that 29-year old David Snyder of rural Quincy came out of the house, running at Destiny, upset that she reportedly told David’s wife that he had been doing drugs and cheating on her. Deputies report that prompted Destiny to fire off a shot into the ground and then aim the weapon at David, who then grabbed the gun and threw Destiny to the ground and assaulted the other male subject with the gun. No one was struck by any gunfire during the confrontations. Purcell was jailed on felony counts of assault with a dangerous weapon and reckless use of a firearm with her bond set at ten thousand dollars. Snyder was booked on a count of assault and battery with a 500-dollar bond.
