The NHL Thursday canceled regular-season games through October 24th due to the lockout. The Red Wings were scheduled to host Nashville in the season-opener October 12th as well as Vancouver on October 22nd. Detroit also lost four road games at Buffalo, St. Louis, Chicago, and Columbus. The NHL and the Players Association remain without a collective bargaining agreement.
