VIDEO: Tigers GM Dombrowski featured in congratulatory video to WMU's Kathy Beauregard

KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- The Michigan Sports Hall of Fame has added another name to their list of those accepting the coveted Gerald R. Ford Award. Western Michigan University's Athletic Director Kathy Beauregard was officially inducted to the Hall of Fame Friday during a luncheon in her honor on WMU’s campus.

Beauregard is the first woman to receive the award that is named for former President Gerald R. Ford and is given to a “deserving member of the sports community who has demonstrated extraordinary leadership, vision and has made significant contributions in sports or sports related fields, enhanced the image of sports and whose business activities have improved the quality of life for the people of Michigan.”

Speakers at the luncheon included longtime Bronco radio voice Robin Hook, Hall of Fame Advisory Board Member and former Piston’s head coach Ray Scott, Keynote speaker and former Bronco football quarterback Tim Hiller, and of course Kathy herself.

A video was also featured at the luncheon that included accolades from former gymnastics team members when Beauregard was the head coach and a special note from WMU Alumni and the current General Manager of the Detroit Tigers, Dave Dombrowski.

Watch above for video from Dombrowski congratulating Beauregard on her induction to the Hall of Fame.
