Did you hear the one about Cecil Chao, the Hong Kong billionaire who offered $65 million to any man who could marry his lesbian daughter? Well if you haven't, now you have. The true tale about Chao's offer made headlines the world over last week, after a French church went ahead and blessed his daughter and her longtime girlfriend's relationship.
And when a story like that feels too good to be true and IS, well, Hollywood comes a-knockin'! Turns out Sacha Baron Cohen (never one to shy away from a ludicrous and controversial story) will develop a feature film version of the story with his Four By Two Films for the folks at Paramount Pictures, according to Deadline.
Sounds like Cohen is gearing up for a wacky take on this story, as he's also expected to star as the billionaire in question in the movie that is tentatively titled The Lesbian. No doubt the accent work in the film will be...something.
Do you think this sounds like a good idea for a movie? Is Sacha Baron Cohen the man for the job? Sound off in the comments!
