MARSHALL (WTVB) - Recent polls have shown that the race for the 63rd State House District race between Incumbent House Speaker Jase Bolger and Democrat Bill Farmer is a lot tighter than anyone would have predicted. Farmer says if you listen to the constituents he has talked to, he may have a shot at winning because of “Bolgergate”.
But he says even without the allegations that Bolger tried to rig an election in Grand Rapids, voters are unhappy about cuts to education, the retiree tax, and the huge tax breaks given to business with none of the promised jobs. Farmer says most voters he has talked to want change.
Democratic polls have shown that Farmer is just barely ahead. Republican polls show that Bolger has a steady lead. The State Democratic Party is pouring money into the race, hoping for an upset.
