THREE RIVERS (WTVB) - A few years ago when American Axle was on the ropes with the rest of the auto industry, people got worried in Three Rivers, where the auto parts maker is its largest employer.  Now that the auto industry has roared back and the city and school district is having budget problems, the company is donating $400,000 to the local units.  $300,000 will go to the city and the rest to the schools. They haven’t decided exactly how they will spend it yet but they have plenty of needs. American Axle is planning another expansion in Three Rivers and adding 400 more jobs.
