TEKONSHA, MI (WTVB) - Concerns are being aired about the M-60/M-66 intersection in Northwest Branch County where two people were killed in a traffic accident last weekend. Paul Crandall of Litchfield is leading a drive to collect signatures for a petition calling on officials to investigate the site of the crash, where there are stop signs for north and south traffic on M-66 but no signals or signs for vehicles travelling east and west on M-60
45-year old Kenneth Waychoff, and his 17-year old nephew, Joshua Waychoff, both of Sherwood and friends of Crandall, died when their northbound mini-van pulled into the path of a westbound pick-up truck carrying a trailer. Branch County deputies said Kenneth Waychoff failed to yield, making the collision with the truck unavoidable. Nick Schirripa with the Michigan Department of Transportation said MDOT is studying the intersection, but that is always the case following fatal accidents.
