GALESBURG-AUGUSTA (WKZO) -- There is a group of parents in the Galesburg-Augusta School District who never did like the school board’s decision to privatize custodians and bus drivers. When they obtained a video taken by a student of an employee of that private firm, said to be the transportation director, shoving a 7-year-old boy up against the bus windows.
It sparked a protest, complete with picket signs. By then, Auxillo, the firm that operates the bus system had already fired Heidi Mullen, the woman in question. The parents are pressing assault charges.
Mullen is claiming she was on the bus to watch the boy, because of his repeated behavior problems, and there may be a second video of the boy’s behavior leading up to the incident. She claims he made death threats against her and she may file her own charges.
