LANSING (WKZO) -- Michigan State Police are spending their next two weeks looking for sex offenders.
Called Operation Verify, it's the ninth annual sex offender sweep in the state as officers look for those who have not verified their address. How often an offender needs to do so depends on the severity of their crimes and convictions, with some needing to verify their address every year and others having to do it once a quarter.
All sex offenders have to report a new address, vehicle, job change and college enrollment within three business days.
