Cornerback Alphonso Smith is back with the Lions.Detroit has re-signed Smith in an effort to add depth to a position that has been depleted by injuries. Smith started ten games for the Lions in 2010 and led the team with five interceptions that season. He had three more interceptions in eleven games last year, but was released duringDetroit’s final cuts at the end of preseason this year. The Lions have released running back Keiland Williams to make room on the roster. Next up for 2-and-3 Lions will be the 4-and-1 Bears in Chicago on "Monday Night Football."
Week 7 in the NFL kicked off last night with the 49’ers beating the Seattle Seahawks 13-to-6 in San Francisco.
