Claims by the federal government that it violated the Clean Air Act at plants in both Battle Creek and in Grand Rapids. They say the company operated without necessary permits and exceeded federal emission limits. The violations occurred as far back as 1993 and as recent as 2007.
They have also agreed to pay another half million to replace a cooling and dehumidifying system that was causing problems, and improve emissions at their facilities.
