NEWTON TOWNSHIP, CALHOUN COUNTY (WTVB) - It was quite a grass and brush fire Thursday afternoon in Calhoun County’s Newton Township. Firefighters from five departments fought to keep the fire from spreading after it was first reported shortly after 2 p.m. in a field area south of B-Drive South near 11 mile road. The blaze impacted around 10 acres of land.
