COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – An equipment failure at the Garfield Avenue Substation is being blamed for an isolated power outage Wednesday afternoon for some Coldwater BPU customers on the northwest side of the city.
According to a statement from the BPU, the power was restored within 40 minutes.
The utility said they take every outage seriously and the safety of their employees is their top priority. They apologized for any inconvenience the outage may have caused.
Even after the power was restored for most customers, there were still some lingering outages along Marshall Street near Circle Drive.
The outage started at around 2:00 p.m. and affected areas along Western Avenue, as well as Coldwater High School and Legg Middle School.
