LANSING, MI (WKZO) --With just over a week ago before the election, fundraising on the state’s six ballot proposals has climbed to nearly 150-million dollars,
That shatters any record that may have existed before. It’s hard to say how much of it has been spent, but we can assume that most of it has. The single issue with the highest is #2 the collective bargaining issue which has had 47.7 million spent on it so far by both sides.
Proposal 3, the renewable energy measure has had 35-million spent on ads. Rick Robinson with the Michigan Campaign Finance Network calls it unprecedented. Whether it becomes a regular event in Michigan may depend on how voters react. If voters still say “no” after all those millions have been spent, it could be a real deterrent.
