LANSING, MI (WKZO) -- The nation’s meningitis outbreak has been knocked out of the headlines by Hurricane Sandy, but the list of victims continues to grow. The state health Department is now reporting two additional deaths, bringing the state’s list of fatalities to 8, and its total number of illnesses caused by the tainted steroid shots in Michigan to 93. That’s up from 63 just last week.
The latest victims included a 64-year-old woman from Wayne County and an 81-year old woman from Charlevoix County.
