UNATED (WTVB) - The race for president in Michigan looks like it will come down to the wire.  With Election Day less than a week away, a new poll shows President Obama with a three-point lead over Republican challenger Mitt Romney.  According to a political survey commissioned by the "Detroit News" and WDIV Local 4, President Obama holds a slim 48-percent to 45-percent lead over Romney.

In Metro Detroit, Romney holds a nine-point lead in Oakland County and 16-point lead in Macomb County, while Obama is up 16-percent in Wayne County.

eT 5\V, 25-18. BreeAnn Spangler and Lauren Outwater shared team-high honors in kills with 9 apiece while Spangler led the way in digs with 12. Outwater also had a team high 4 blocks and was our McDonald’s Player of the Match.

Janie Marso paced the Lady Cardinals in assists with 18. The outcome spoiled a homecoming for Holt coach Kellie Sweitzer, who graduated in 2000 from Coldwater High.

After last night’s match, we got a scouting report on Gull Lake from Coldwater Coach Gene Pensari…

Coldwater’s record on the season is now 44-7-and-2. Gull Lake advanced to the semi-finals with their 3-to-0 win last night over Battle Creek Lakeview. In the other bracket, it will be Battle Creek Central vs. Mason.

Central drew a first round bye while Mason last night beat Jackson High. Coldwater will play in tomorrow night’s second semi-final match with a scheduled start time of 6:30 following the opening match set for five o’clock.

Once again, we’ll have the Lady Cardinals on the radio with our live coverage from Gull Lake on AM 1590 and FM 95.5 beginning at 6:15. The title match will be on Saturday morning beginning at 10 a.m.

Meanwhile, there’s state volleyball tournament action tonight for the other Branch County schools with the semi finals of the Union City Class-C district. In the first match at six o’clock, it’s Quincy vs. Reading while the second semi-final scheduled for seven o’clock has Union City taking on Bronson. The championship will be decided tomorrow night starting at seven o’clock.

Today on the Coach’s Corner, it’s our final look at Bronson football with Coach Jeff Gallup.
