UNDATED (WTVB) - An early morning incident on Interstate 96 was not related to the recent rash of shootings reported in that area. The Livingston County Sheriff's Office says a driver on the freeway nearGrand Riverreported another vehicle sped up and either threw something or fired a shot at their car.
Investigators say this was a case of road rage and no shots were fired. Since mid-October there have been 25 roadway shootings on or near I-96 in Oakland, Livingston, Shiawassee and Ingham counties.
A man from Barry County was struck by a bullet Saturday while driving on the freeway but was not seriously injured. A reward of over 100-thousand dollars is being offered for the capture of the shooter.
