COLDWATER (WTVB) - The end of the Labor Day holiday weekend means the beginning of classes and a new academic year for K-12 public school children in Branch County and across Michigan. Drivers are being reminded to keep their eyes peeled as they head to and from work and to obey the commands they get from the school bus driver. Police agencies are vigorously enforcing school speed zones. And for some kids, a new school year means new classrooms and improvements.
In Coldwater, that includes renovations for the Legg Middle School eighth grade wing and the high school cafetorium. And one project school officials were nervous about getting done on time was mostly finished and open for traffic, the Legg Middle School bus loop construction on the east side of the building.
