MADISON, WISCONSIN (WTVB) - Another new school year means more kids will be signing on to social media sites like Facebook to keep in touch will all of their new friends. But, how young is too young to use a service like that? Doctor Megan Moreno, a pediatrician at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and researcher of social media, says that safety should always be the top concern. She says that the biggest mistake most parents make is assuming parental involvement doesn't make a difference.
Moreno notes that different kids have different maturity levels, but parents should always at least talk to their youngsters about safety. Remember to tell your kids not to post things about their location or whether they're about to go on vacation.
