COLDWATER (WTVB) - The Coldwater school system has spent the last couple of years without a full time Chief Financial Officer being employed by the district, but that’s about to change. The Coldwater Board of Education, in special session this week, approved the hiring of Ben Engelter to assume the C-F-O duties beginning September 24^th. Engelter, one of five candidates interviewed for the post, has 15 years experience in the field, most recently with Mason public schools, where for the past four years he was the district’s business office specialist. After Dave Disler retired from the Coldwater school system in June of 2011, a Grand Haven consulting firm has been under contract handling the money matters for the district. Engelter’s starting salary in Coldwater will be $86,000 a year.
