NASCAR is reinstating suspended driver AJ Allmendinger, who was suspended on July 24th due to NASCAR's substance abuse policy. Allmendinger was reinstated Tuesday after completing the Road to Recovery program. He was released by Penske Racing shortly after failing a drug test in June in Kentucky and another failure for his "B" sample test brought an indefinite suspension by NASCAR. The drug was at first identified as amphetamines, with Allmendinger later reporting that it was the prescription drug Adderall. Penske Racing recently signed Joey Logano to drive the number-22 Dodge in 2013 and Sam Hornish Jr. has been racing in Allmendinger's place.
