COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) - The Branch County Tea Party will host a special speaker for its one o’clock rally tomorrow afternoon at the Four Corners Park in Downtown Coldwater. The Romney-Ryan Campaign will have a presence at the event in the person of South Carolina Congressman Joe Wilson. The local tea party’s banner promoting the rally says “Liberty or Tyranny?The Election of a Lifetime.”

Others expected to attend include Congressman Tim Walberg, U.S. Senate candidate Pete Hoekstra, State House representative Ken Kurtz of Coldwater and Michigan Supreme Court Justice Stephen Markham. Congressman Wilson gained a measure of notoriety 3 years ago when during an angry finger pointing eruption aimed at President Obama during an address to a joint session of Congress, Wilson shouted to the President,  “You Lie”, regarding Democratic health care proposals. He later apologized although the House voted to rebuke Wilson for a breach of decorum. The Tea Party also has a Common Sense Patriots of Branch County Town Hall Meeting coming up Monday at 6 p.m. at the CHC Volunteer Center, the old K-Mart building. The group says the session will focus on Obamacare with the featured speaker, Dr. Rob Steele with the Michigan chapter of Docs 4 Patient Care.
