LANSING, MI (WTVB) - As the Branch County Tea Party prepares for its rally in downtown Coldwater Saturday afternoon, a new poll shows that Michigan voters would replace the Republican majority in the State House with Democrats, with generic Democrats winning by 13 percentage points.
The poll, conducted by the Glengarif Group, probably reflects the general dissatisfaction with the Republican leadership in Lansing, which has cut school funding, started taxing seniors, and failed to generate the jobs they promised and are on the wrong side of many issues including gay marriage and women’s rights. Then there is "Bolgergate." Whether the Democrats can produce the candidates to actually overcome advantages in redistricting just imposed by the GOP is yet to be seen. Voters may feel the same way about the Senate and the Governor, but they aren’t up for reelection.
