After more than a week of silence, the NHL and players' union will resume talks for a new collective bargaining agreement on Friday in New York. The lockout is now into the tenth day since the work stoppage began on September 16th. The union does not want to budge on any salary givebacks and the league wants a reduction in the players' share of the revenue. All preseason games through the end of September have already been cancelled.
