DETROIT (WKZO) -- The trial of former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick is taking a break Wednesday in federal court in Detroit. The ex-mayor and three co-defendants are charged with 36 criminal counts stemming from an investigation of Kilpatrick's time in office.
On Tuesday, the jury heard from a Kilpatrick friend who testified he was given 90-thousand dollars in cash by Bobby Ferguson. He later delivered the money to Kilpatrick. A Detroit police officer also testified he was threatened by Ferguson after he cited the contractor for not cleaning up property he owned.
Testimony is scheduled to resume Thursday.
