WASHINGTON, D.C. (WTVB) - The housing market, consumer optimism and hiring may all be on the rise, but the CEO’s, what some may call the one-percent, have a pretty gloomy outlook. Former Michigan Governor John Engler, who is now President of the Business Roundtable says the looming fiscal cliff, Europe and spending have the nation’s CEO’s predicting bad times just ahead.
West Michigan economist Brian Long thinks its just pre-election jitters, and he thinks that a lot of that angst and uncertainty will evaporate the day after the election, whichever way it goes.
