UNDATED (WKZO) -- Researchers say they believe some Asian Carp have reached the Great Lakes. The team from Notre Dame, Central Michigan and the Nature Conservancy says they have been testing water samples from waterways near Chicago for DNA samples and they have found them. They also got six positive hits on water samples from Lake Erie.
They haven’t found any actual fish beyond the barriers in the Chicago shipping canal. The U.S. Army Corp of Engineers says the DNA traces could have come from sources other than live fish.
