Kurtz legislation goes to Governor for signature

LANSING, MI (WTVB) - The Michigan Senate today (Thursday) approved legislation sponsored by State Representative Ken Kurtz of Coldwater that will simplify the licensing process for recreational vehicles in Michigan. The measures would move the classification for non-motorized recreational vehicle sales to the Motor Vehicle Sales Finance Act except for dealers who only sell non-motorized recreation vehicles.  It’s designed to eliminate extra paperwork and policies for dealers who sell both motorized and non-motorized recreational vehicles.

Kurtz says simplifying how recreational vehicles are licensed will make it easier for Michigan families to enjoy Pure Michigan. He added that streamlining regulations that RV dealers have to follow will help protect Michigan consumers. This legislation gives dealers who only sell non-motorized RVs the option to be licensed under the MVSFA or the Retail Installment Sales Act. The bills now go to the governor for his signature.
