Governor to Introduce plans to modify no-fault insurance in Michigan

by
Michigan Governor Rick Snyder
Michigan Governor Rick Snyder

LANSING  (WKZO) --   They aren’t releasing many details but the Governor is expected to reintroduce an effort this morning to pass insurance company backed reforms to the state’s No-fault system that have generated controversy in the past, and are drawing fire before they have even been introduced.

The governor’s plan would set a million dollar limit on catastrophic claims that now have no limit, and a quarter-million limit for motorcycle riders.

It would save motorists about 125-dollars a year off their insurance rates.  A group called the Coalition Protecting Auto No-Fault says those patients would be dumped into Medicare costing tax payers, and their families would be forced into bankruptcy.
