COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) - The effects of Thursday’s sustained rainfall on the local high school sports schedule carried over to Friday, where Coldwater’s scheduled girls tennis match against Loy Norrix was cancelled for a second time. It was originally scheduled for April 10th, but was scrubbed then due to inclement weather; a third attempt to reschedule the match hasn’t been set yet.
Today’s schedule of high school sports is also being affected both by flooded fields from Thursday’s rains and by today’s chilly forecast. In baseball, the Union City Invitational, which would have included Bronson, has been scrubbed; instead, the Chargers will play a single game at Bronson this afternoon. In softball, the Chris Brian Invitational at Hanover-Horton, which Coldwater would have participated in, was cancelled. The Legg MIddle School Relays track meet is cancelled for Saturday. Finally, in girls tennis, the Western Quad Invitational that includes Coldwater has been moved from Parma Western to Jackson Lumen Christi.
Branch County AYSO soccer games for Saturday have also been postponed. Teams should follow the Sunday make-up schedule, because the games will be played tomorrow.
