UNDATED (WKZO) - The first Earth Day was reported to be a protest against pollution. Today the environmental movement is big business that employs over 3-million nationwide in “green jobs”.
Earth Day was often painted as something invented by hippies and environmental radicals who really didn’t understand the economy. Howard Lerner, President of the Environmental Law and Policy Center says curbing pollution creates jobs. Lerner says politicians had best open their eyes and see what is happening to the planet. His group says nearly 200 companies in Michigan supply more than ten-thousand jobs in wind, solar and geothermal energy right now.
