BRONSON, MI (WTVB) - The Southwest Enforcement Team and the IMAGE Drug Task Force descended on the "Little Hippie" shops in Bronson and Angola, Indiana on Friday with search warrants during a year-long investigation of the sale of K2 or Spice, also known as synthetic marijuana.
Detectives seized over 2,800 packages in the Bronson raid with an estimated street value of over $40,000. 19-year-old Cody Sawyer of Angola was taken into custody in Steuben County for dealing in a controlled substance. Other criminal charges are pending, as the case remains under investigation.
The Southwest Enforcement Team was assisted in its portion of the investigation by the Michigan State Police, the Marshall Police Department, the Barry County Sheriff's Department, the Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Department, the Kalamazoo Township Police Department, the South Haven Police Department, and the Berrien County Sheriff's Department. Assisting the IMAGE Drug Task Force in Indiana were the Angola City Police, Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, Allen County Drug Task Force, and the Allen County SWAT Team
