Blood Alcohol Level Will Remain The Same

LANSING, MI (WTVB) - The Michigan Senate has unanimously approved a bill to keep the state's blood alcohol content to be considered drunk while driving the same.

The Senate has approved a measure to keep the level at point-zero-eight. In 2003, the state lowered the level to point-zero-eight from point-one and if the Legislature hadn't acted, the level would have gone back up to point-one in October.  Alcohol blood content is used to determine if a driver is drunk.  The bill will now head to Governor Rick Snyder's desk for approval. Without it, Michigan could lose an estimated fifty million dollars a year in federal highway funding
