KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO) -- its Donate a Life month in Michigan and Secretary of State Ruth Johnson was in Kalamazoo this week to promote their efforts to sign up organ donors. She brought along with her some people who have benefited from organ donation, like Kristen Main of Battle Creek, who developed a sarcoma as a teen that would have left her arm either useless or amputated. It was only later that a third option surfaced, transplantation. Now she is a Police Sergeant.
Johnson says for every success story, there are a number of people who are still waiting for donors. She visited the Secretary of State’s office off Romence in Portage.
