COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) - A celebration weekend is on hand in Coldwater for the Tibbits Opera House with the dedication of the newly restored façade and two showings of a documentary about the preservation of the historic theatre.
The events are part of what’s called “Reflections on a Legacy” with the main focus the world premiere of the Tibbits documentary—“Old Buildings: The Restoration and Preservation of the Tibbits Opera House.”
There will be two showings of the film, tonight’s premiere and a Sunday 2 pm matinee after which Equity Studios plans a national distribution. Copies of the documentary will be available on DVD and Blu-Ray following the premiere. Tonight’s event will include the dedication of the façade with special guests from the political and preservation worlds. The dedication and film begins at 8pm with a reception at 6:30. Tickets for tonight’s premiere are $45 for just the film and dedication or $75 to include the VIP reception. Tickets for the Sunday matinee are $10, $8 for Tibbits members and $5 for students.
