KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- A WMU Professor and former Journalist thinks that for the most part, coverage of the Boston Marathon bombings, and the subsequent search for the suspects was handled well with a few glaring exceptions.
Dr. Sue Ellen Christian says apparently most people did too. The Pew Center for People and the Press found that 7 in 10 Americans rated the coverage as good to excellent, with 32% saying excellent.
She says CNN’s inaccurate report on the Wednesday following the bombings that arrests had been made was the biggest gaffe.
She says there is a lot of pressure these days to get it first, but it can blow up in your face if you don’t get it right.
