HOWE, IN (WTVB) - A Branch County woman was arrested last night in northeast Indiana where authorities seized a large number of firearms. The LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department says 26-year old Kayla Gates was taken into custody as authorities served a search warrant at a Howe, Indiana residence. Deputies say they acted on tips received while being on the lookout for a wanted subject identified as 37-year old Zabrina Brown. She was at the home where the warrant was executed and a total of 17 shotguns and rifles were seized. Brown was booked at the LaGrange County Jail on a charge of maintaining a common nuisance.
Also arrested was 52-year old Russell Lewis for unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon. Gates was found to be named on a Steuben County methamphetamine warrant and was lodged at the jail in Angola.
