SOUTH HAVEN, MI (WTVB) - It’s Blueberry Festival Weekend in South Haven and the timing couldn’t be worse to have their two beaches closed by health officials. City leaders and businesses have to be hoping that a sunny Thursday and natural wave action by Lake Michigan will cleanse the waters off North and South Beach. High levels of E. Coli measured in the water prompted health officials to issue a no contact advisory. They will test again today. The contaminants were likely flushed out into the lake by this week’s heavy rains.
