KALAMAZOO, MI (WTVB) - There will a meteor shower this weekend. The annual Perseid meteor shower will light up the sky in the coming days, especially on Sunday and Monday nights. Richard Bell, with the Kalamazoo Astronomical Society, says that if you want to view the shower, you can look toward almost any part of the sky:
The meteors are tiny particles from the Swift Tuttle Comet that light up as they enter the Earth's atmosphere. There will be a public observing session on Saturday at 8:30 pm, assuming there's a clear sky, at the Kalamazoo Nature Center.
