BROOKLYN, MI (WTVB) - Juan Pablo Montoya is expected to be in the field for Sunday’s Pure Michigan 400 at Michigan International Speedway but he won’t be returning to drive the number-42 Sprint Cup car of Earnhardt Ganassi Racing in 2014. ESPN.com reports that EGR said Tuesday that it’s too early to speculate on who will replace Montoya but added number-42 will be on the track with primary sponsor Target. Montoya had been with the organization since 2007 and is 22nd in points this season with three top-5 finishes.
We’ll have doubleheader coverage on the radio from MIS this weekend beginning with Saturday’s Camping World Truck Series Michigan National Guard 200 and then Sunday’s Pure Michigan 400. Both broadcasts on AM 1590 and FM 95.5 will begin at 12 Noon.
