ALBION, MI (WTVB) - It’s a close by reminder how in this day and age, public officer holders have to be on the lookout for potentially dangerous and disgruntled constituents. Calhoun County deputies say 33-year-old Chad Baase of Albion was apparently angry over a child custody decision, and thought that County Commissioners could remove judges from office. Baase allegedly sent messages to the Facebook pages of at least two county officials threatening to poison the water supply to harm as many people as possible, and to kill a judge and his family members.
Baase claimed to have access to the water system because he had been painting water towers this summer. He is being held on $50,000 bond for making a threat of terrorism and using a computer to commit a crime.
