BROOKLYN, MI (WTVB) - The pre-race spin for picking the favorites for Sunday’s Pure Michigan 400 at Michigan International Speedway is turning toward Greg Biffle’s odds of capturing his third straight checkered flag at MIS. And as usual, fan favorite Dale Earnhardt, Jr. is part of the discussion after he was only able to run 131 of the 200 laps in the June race in the Irish Hills because of engine failure which followed a strong showing with 34 laps in the lead. Kyle Busch won’t be overlooked after his win last week at Watkins Glen. And will this be the event points leader Jimmie Johnson finally breaks through since Michigan is one of the five tracks on the current Sprint Cup series schedule where he hasn’t tasted victory.
It’s a doubleheader on the radio from MIS this weekend with both broadcasts beginning at Noon as AM 1590 and FM 95.5 bring you live coverage of Saturday’s Camping World Truck Series Michigan National Guard 200 along with Sunday’s Pure Michigan 400.
