BROOKLYN, MI (WTVB) - Joey Logano received a boost in his Chase hopes by winning Sunday's Pure Michigan 400 at Michigan International Speedway. Logano sat on the pole and drove to his third career Sprint Cup Series victory while moving up to third in the wild card rankings with three races left before the Chase for the Cup. The 23-year old Logano is the youngest Sprint Cup winner at MIS. Kevin Harvick finished second, followed by Kurt Busch, Paul Menard and Clint Bowyer. Points leader Jimmie Johnson had engine trouble and lasted less than 60 laps. He continues to lead the standings by 41 points over Bowyer.
This week the series heads to Bristol for a Saturday night race.
