STEUBEN COUNTY, IN (WTVB) - Another suspected drunk driving crash in the area and it resulted in serious injuries early today. The accident happened just south of the Michigan border along South Lake Gage Drive. The Steuben County Sheriff’s Department said 25-year old Christopher Roth of Orland was westbound at an apparent high rate of speed when he failed to negotiate a curve and smashed his Mazda into a tree. Roth was transported to Cameron Hospital by Steuben County EMS and later transferred to Parkview Regional Medical Center for treatment of facial injuries. Deputies say he was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash shortly before 1 a.m. However, alcohol is believed to be a factor and the crash is still under investigation.
The Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by Orland Fire Rescue and the Indiana State Police.
