DETROIT (WKZO) -- U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Steven Rhodes has appointed a monitor to keep track of legal fees associated with Detroit's bankruptcy. Attorney Robert Fishman, who is part of a Chicago law firm, is ordered to watch the legal and consulting fees.
Fishman will be charging the City of Detroit 600-dollars an hour for his work. The fee likely includes work that will be done by a support staff, but also indicates how expensive Detroit's bankruptcy will be.
Judge Rhodes has scheduled a hearing for September 10th that will require attorneys and consultants working on the case to file monthly invoices with Fishman.
