FLUSHING MEADOWS, NY (WTVB) - Maria Sharapova will not compete in this year's final Grand Slam due to right shoulder bursitis. The 26-year-old Russian was seeded third for the U.S. Open, which begins Monday in New York.  The 2013 French Open runnerup was a second round loser in Cincinnati last week before parting ways with recently appointed coach Jimmy Connors after only one match together. Sharapova won the U.S. Open in 2006.
